Network Specialist Job Summary
We are looking for a Network Specialist to help improve our clients' computer systems. In this role, you assess the client's current network and look for weaknesses or inefficiencies. You then head up the installation of new hardware and software. This may include firewalls or new LAN networks. You must be sure to follow all TCP/IP protocols when setting up our clients' systems. You also run a vulnerability assessment to make sure their networks are secure. Our ideal candidate has a bachelor's degree in computer science or IT. Since some of our clients deal with sensitive data, you will also need to acquire and maintain a security clearance.
Network Specialist Duties and Responsibilities
- Run a vulnerability assessment and a general assessment of existing networks
- Identify weaknesses or inefficiencies
- Install hardware and software to address any issues
- Help train employees on the new programs and protocols
- Provide technical support after the project is over
Network Specialist Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in IT or computer science
- Network specialist certification
- Several years of network and technical support experience
- Strong problem-solving skills
