Master Automotive Technician Job Summary

Our shop is seeking a Master Automotive Technician with extensive vehicle diagnostic and repair skills. In this role, you will diagnose a wide range of issues and make repairs to engines, transmissions, and suspensions, as well as electronic systems, such as brakes and steering. Our customers drive many different kinds of cars and trucks, so you must be comfortable working on a variety of makes and models. In addition to mechanical skills, you need excellent customer service skills to explain repairs and suggest preventative maintenance to our clients. Applicants must maintain their ASE certification and have a valid driver's license.

Master Automotive Technician Duties and Responsibilities

  • Test components and systems using diagnostic equipment
  • Discuss your findings with customer and obtain approval to move forward with repairs
  • Replace and balance tires
  • Assist with oil changes and inspections if necessary
  • Maintain ASE certification
  • Keep a clean and safe workplace

Master Automotive Technician Requirements and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED certificate
  • Completion of trade school certificate program or mechanic training program (preferred)
  • ASE certification (required)
  • Auto technician or mechanic experience (5-10 years preferred)
  • Valid driver's license
  • Physical stamina
  • Basic computer skills
  • Customer-oriented attitude
