Laboratory Technician Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled laboratory technician to join our growing team. In this position, you will test samples and products to maintain health and quality control. Experience in data collection and interpretation as well as a keen attention to detail and a strong work ethic are a must.

Laboratory Technician Duties and Responsibilities

  • Test and set up lab equipment
  • Use complex lab machinery and computer programs to conduct tests
  • Collect and interpret data; prepare reports
  • Report any health and safety issues
  • Maintain glassware by picking-up, cleaning, washing, and sterilizing
  • Order, receive, and inventory new glassware as needed
  • Ensure successful testing by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, and calling for repairs
  • Document information by maintaining daily logs and equipment record books
  • Resolve problems as they arise by examining and evaluating data
  • Complete projects by assisting project team; attend and participate in team, department, and all-hands meetings

Laboratory Technician Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree (BS) in Chemistry or related science field required
  • 2-5 years experience in an analytical lab environment
  • Strong math and computer skills
  • Strong knowledge of analytical techniques, understanding of proper chemical handling, use, storage and disposal
  • Must be willing to work a rotating shift that includes days, nights, weekends, and holidays
