Inventory Planner Job Summary

We have an opening for an experienced Inventory Planner. You will be responsible for preparing production schedules to ensure we manufacture sufficient amounts of products to meet order demands. On a daily basis, you will review inventory levels of production materials and order more when necessary to maintain our supply. You will discuss and analyze sales forecasts with our vendors and sales team to understand current demand and ensure production meets those demands. We expect our Inventory Planner to document inventory properly and communicate any production issues with upper management immediately.

Inventory Planner Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review and monitor current inventory
  • Develop a manufacturing schedule to ensure we produce enough products to meet order demand
  • Collaborate with vendors and sales team to analyze current trends and production needs
  • Manage excess inventory and determine ways to prevent overproduction
  • Create weekly inventory reports for senior managers

Inventory Planner Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in logistics or a relevant field
  • 1+ years of experience in purchasing and material planning
  • Certification in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) (preferred)
  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Attention to detail
