Hospitalist Job Summary
Our hospital is looking for an experienced Hospitalist to join our acute care staff. You will oversee patients admitted to our acute care wing. When they are first admitted, you will review their medical history, order tests, and make a diagnosis. You will also collaborate with other members of our team to determine the best options for short- and long-term treatment. Our ideal candidate has practiced for several years in internal medicine. An excellent bedside manner is a must, as we try to provide the best experience possible to our patients. ACLS and surgery experience are a plus.
Hospitalist Duties and Responsibilities
- Review patient records and medical history
- Conduct tests to make a diagnosis
- Coordinate with the hospitalist team to determine the best course of treatment
- Answer patient questions about their condition and their treatment options
- Perform regular rounds to monitor patient condition and improvements, making adjustments to treatment as necessary
Hospitalist Requirements and Qualifications
- MD or OD degree from an accredited medical school
- Valid medical license
- Experience with internal or hospital medicine
- Strong communication and analytical skills
- The ability to keep up with changing medical innovations and research
