Fleet Manager Job Summary

Our trucking company is seeking a Fleet Manager to help oversee the trucks and drivers in our fleet. In this role, you will coordinate necessary repairs to our vehicles as well as preventative maintenance. If too many repairs are needed, you will also help procure new or replacement vehicles. As part of your employee management duties, you will schedule drivers, ensure they are qualified according to DOT regulations, and issue them fuel cards. While a bachelor's degree is not required, we do expect applicants to have fleet maintenance and supply chain experience.

Fleet Manager Duties and Responsibilities

  • Schedule and oversee drivers in our fleet
  • Coordinate repairs and preventative maintenance
  • Procure new vehicles as needed
  • Monitor fuel levels and issue fuel cards
  • Oversee incident reporting
  • Ensure employee compliance with DOT regulations

Fleet Manager Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, or business (preferred)
  • Valid CDL and clean driving record (preferred)
  • Fleet maintenance experience (required)
  • ASE certification (a plus)
  • Knowledge of OSHA and DOT regulations
  • Organizational skills
