Fashion Designer Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work with other designers and creators to build designs

  • Display design pieces at fashion and trade shows; present to creative directors.
  • Market and sell fashion designs to retailers/customers
  • Advertise products and meet with distributors
  • Create a plan to manufacture designs with a team or partnership

Fashion Designer Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in fashion design, merchandising, art, or related field
  • Portfolioof previous work
  • In-depth understanding of design principles, fashion, and the fashion industry
  • Accurate and precise attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
  • Self-motivated and self-directed
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
