Event Manager Job Summary

We are seeking a highly-organized Event Manager to create memorable events for our clients. You will meet with the client to determine their expectations and budget for the event. Once their goals have been established, you will plan and organize all the details, including venue selection, catering services, entertainment, and transportation to and from the event, and collaborate with their marketing department to publicize the occasion. Our ideal candidate has at least two years of event planning experience and is passionate about meeting the needs of our clients.

Event Manager Duties and Responsibilities

  • Establish client goals and budget for the event
  • Oversee the booking of all event details, including location, catering, decor, entertainment, transportation, and promotional materials
  • Negotiate vendor contracts to stay within budget
  • Schedule sufficient staff for the day of the event
  • Manage each phase on site during the event
  • Communicate regularly with the client to ensure customer satisfaction

Event Manager Requirements and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree in hospitality, event management, or related field a plus
  • 2+ years of event planning experience
  • Substantial portfolio of successfully managed events
  • Superb time management and communication skills
  • Sales skills and an aptitude for building productive business relationships
  • Able to oversee multiple projects independently
  • Proficient in MS Office
