Environmental Professional Job Summary

We are looking for a qualified Environmental Professional to conduct a Phase 1 Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) and determine the liability of contamination. The assessment will be on an area we recently acquired and are now considering for real estate development. Applicants must be considered an Environmental Professional by one of three standards set by the Environmental Protection Agency. Our ideal candidate has a bachelor's degree in a relevant field and several years of work experience in a similar role.

Environmental Professional Duties and Responsibilities

  • Search for any relevant federal, state, local, and tribal records of the property
  • Check for prior land usage and permits
  • Check for environmental liens or Activity and Land Use Limitations
  • Check site soil for chemical contamination
  • Check site quality of groundwater and surface water
  • Check existing structures for chemical residues
  • Take inventory of hazardous substances on site
  • Evaluate indoor air quality

Environmental Professional Requirements and Qualifications

  • Either state or tribal issued certification or license (such as a P.E. or P.G. license) and three years of relevant experience OR
  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering or science field and five years of relevant experience OR
  • Ten years of relevant work experience
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
