EMT Job Summary

We need a qualified EMT to join our emergency medical services (EMS) team. You must be a certified emergency medical technician with experience on an ambulance crew. In this position, you may respond to emergency situations containing trauma or injuries, necessitating the ability to maintain composure in stressful situations. While you leave many diagnostic tasks to doctors and nurses, you should have an understanding of basic field procedures, such as taking blood samples and vitals. You must be a collaborative person, able to coordinate with other technicians and paramedics in a time-sensitive environment. Excellent communication skills are crucial. A valid ambulance driver's license is a plus but not required.

EMT Duties and Responsibilities

  • Respond to 911 emergency calls
  • Provide basic life support and patient care
  • Transport patients safely to a hospital
  • Perform infection control procedures
  • Keep the ambulance and equipment clean
  • Stay on-call during your shifts to respond to emergency requests
  • Maintain compliance with licensing regulations

EMT Requirements and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED certificate
  • At least 18 years old
  • EMT and CPR certifications
  • Physical strength and stamina to move patients
  • Basic medical knowledge
  • Strong communication skills
  • Having an ambulance driver's license preferred
