Draftsman Job Summary
Our commercial construction company is seeking an experienced Draftsman. In this role, your primary function is to create technical drawings for our building projects using a computer-aided design program, like AutoCAD. These drawings are an essential tool for our project team, so they must be very detailed, complete with building schedules, foundation plans, and materials. You will also collaborate with the engineers and architects of the project, adjusting the plan based on their notes or recommendations. Our ideal candidate has a bachelor's degree in drafting or engineering and is comfortable using computer-aided design software to communicate precise building information.
Draftsman Duties and Responsibilities
- Use computer-aided design software to create 3D and 2D technical drawings
- Make changes to technical drafts based on the recommendations of the project engineers and architects
- Calculate dimensions and material requirements
- Outline the construction process of the project on the technical drawings
Draftsman Requirements and Qualifications
- Associate or bachelor's degree in drafting, engineering, or a relevant field
- Experience with AutoCAD software (2-3 years minimum)
- Experience with SolidWorks software a plus
- Math skills
- Attention to detail
