Dispatch Coordinator Job Summary

We are in need of an experienced Dispatch Coordinator to help oversee our fleet of vehicles. In this role, you will be responsible for keeping track of our drivers, taking calls from our customers, and contacting the nearest available driver to direct them to the customer. This is both a relationship management position as well as a dispatching position, so you must ensure our customers are satisfied with the speed of our service. In addition to strong customer service skills, you should also have a commercial driver's license (CDL) and some trucking experience. An AS400 Administration certificate is also beneficial.

Dispatch Coordinator Duties and Responsibilities

  • Take calls and service requests from customers
  • Contact the nearest or soonest available driver and direct them to the client
  • Log all service requests and dispatches
  • Ensure we are in compliance with all labor regulations
  • Relay billing information to our invoicing department

Dispatch Coordinator Requirements and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED certificate
  • Trucking experience, preferably in a high volume environment
  • Valid CDL
  • AS400 Administration certificate (preferred)
  • Data entry skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook
