Data Technician Job Summary

Our company is seeking a Data Technician to help maintain the physical infrastructure of our web-based data storage system. In addition to testing and replacing hardware and other components, you will help rack and stack equipment in a way that either supports or increases our power capacity. You will also be part of the ticket management team, so you may be asked to provide basic IT support to our non-technical employees. Our facility utilizes handheld scanners to track the location and use of all tools, parts, and equipment. Applicants should have some prior experience with hardware and cable installation.

Data Technician Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain the physical infrastructure behind our data system
  • Replace failed hardware or components
  • Perform cable installations
  • Assist with racking and stacking
  • Assist with ticket management process
  • Use barcode scanners to keep track of tools, parts, and equipment
  • Ensure compliance with information security measures

Data Technician Requirements and Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or GED certificate
  • An associate degree or a bachelor's degree a plus
  • Experience with hardware and cable installation
  • Troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
