Credit Manager Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Credit Manager to take over our credit and collections operations. You will review all customer applications for credit and determine whether or not to approve them. For outstanding accounts, you will actively pursue collections and work with customers to bring their accounts up-to-date. Our ideal candidate will be able to develop strategies and goals to reduce risk and increase overall revenues. You will also be responsible for hiring and training new staff on company credit and collections procedures. Some travel is required.

Credit Manager Duties and Responsibilities

  • Cultivate relationships with clients
  • Review credit applications to determine approval or denial
  • Oversee collections operations for overdue accounts
  • Develop credit strategies and recommend changes to policies when necessary
  • Monitor customer accounts for accuracy
  • Hire and train new credit department staff

Credit Manager Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field
  • At least 5 years of experience in credit or finance
  • Knowledge of governmental regulations pertaining to credit accounts, credit scores, and collections policies
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
