Computer Technician Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Computer Technician to support all computer, technical, and network usability for our organization. You will be responsible for setting up equipment and connecting new users to the network, troubleshooting problems with hardware and software, and installing new programs when necessary. Our IT department works hard to respond to help desk requests quickly and efficiently, so we need a Computer Technician who is diligent and responsive. We prefer candidates who have at least two years of industry experience.
Computer Technician Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare software, computer setup, and network configuration for new users
- Install and update network system improvements as needed
- Provide assistance and support on computer equipment operations, printer configurations, password and lock settings, and other technical issues
- Keep systems up-to-date through operating systems upgrades
- Perform data backups
- Record and document issues and resolutions
Computer Technician Requirements and Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field preferred
- 2+ years of computer technician experience
- Up-to-date knowledge of new systems, information, software, and upgrades
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Able to stand, bend, squat, and lift equipment as needed
