- Monitor ongoing research activity to maintain compliance with scientific protocols and government regulations
- Collaborate with ethics committees to ensure that research activities adhere to the highest standards
- Design protocols for clinical research trials
- Maintain schedule of facility use
- Verify data, compile reports, and present results
- Seek out opportunities for continuing education
Clinical Research Associate Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in life sciences or healthcare fields such as nursing and pharmacology
- Extensive experience in clinical research settings
- Proficient with scientific software such as InferMed MACRO Electronic Data Capture, The Mathworks MATLAB, and StataCorp Stata
- Proficient with database software such as Microsoft Access, FileMaker Pro, and Oracle Clinical
- Detail-oriented; able to perform complex tasks with a high degree of accuracy
- Superior deductive reasoning, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
- Excellent time management; able to prioritize tasks and accomplish set goals efficiently
- Strong written and oral communication skills
