Cable Technician Job Summary

We have an immediate opening for an experienced Cable Technician. You will join our field service team to service both commercial and residential clients. Job duties include installing new cable systems, troubleshooting current systems that are causing problems, and repairing voice and data cables when necessary. You will usually respond to calls on your own, but some large jobs require you to work with a team of technicians. We prefer candidates who have at least one year of professional experience, but we are willing to train the right person.

Cable Technician Duties and Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair cable TV and internet systems
  • Pull, route, or label CAT5 or CAT6 cable
  • Install support structures, including cable racks, j-hooks, innerduct, and other related structures
  • Conduct thorough inspections of cable lines to ensure the system is working correctly
  • Test and troubleshoot issues with network communication
  • Repair related poles and towers to resolve cable issues

Cable Technician Requirements and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ years of experience professional technician experience preferred
  • Familiar with industry tools and equipment
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving history
  • Able to work at tall heights and lift 50+ pounds
