Building Maintenance Technician Job Summary
We are looking for a dependable Building Maintenance Technician to join our facilities management team. In this role, you inspect the property to identify necessary repairs. Whenever possible, you complete the repairs yourself or with other members of our maintenance team. Our ideal candidate has some carpentry experience and is knowledgeable about various hand and power tools. You may also be asked to perform maintenance on our plumbing or electrical system, so any experience in these areas is a major plus. As part of our maintenance team, you should feel comfortable assisting with landscaping and cleaning tasks as needed. Bilingual candidates (English/Spanish) are encouraged to apply.
Building Maintenance Technician Duties and Responsibilities
- Inspect the property to identify necessary repairs or updates
- Perform preventative maintenance and emergency repairs
- Assist with grounds maintenance tasks, including shoveling walkways and removing trash
- Assist with painting and hanging drywall as needed
- Maintain an inventory of spare parts based on our most likely needs
- Keep maintenance logs
Building Maintenance Technician Requirements and Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED certificate (preferred)
- Facilities maintenance or carpentry experience (preferred)
- Specialized experience with plumbing, electrical, or HVAC systems (a plus)
- EPA certification (a plus)
- Familiarity with basic hand and power tools
- Physical stamina to perform physical tasks in various weather conditions
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
- Valid driver's license
