Broadband Technician Job Summary

Our telecommunications company is looking for a Broadband Technician to assist with residential and commercial service calls. In this role, you install equipment for high-speed internet and cable. As part of this process, you may have to drill holes and assist with fiber optic cabling, something that allows us to offer our customers a higher bandwidth. You also troubleshoot issues by running diagnostic tests and recording RF levels. While we are looking for someone who has some experience with wireless networking and cable installation, we are more than willing to train the right applicant. Since this is a field service and support position, applicants must have a valid driver's license.

Broadband Technician Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform installations and disconnections of high-speed internet and cable lines
  • Drill holes for wiring and wall mounts
  • Run diagnostic tests on equipment
  • Troubleshoot network issues
  • Check and record radiofrequency levels
  • Provide technical support or guidance to our customers
  • Complete service documentation

Broadband Technician Requirements and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED certificate
  • Experience with wireless networking or cable installation a plus
  • Familiar with basic hand and power tools
  • Valid driver's license and a reliable form of transportation
  • Basic math skills
  • Customer service and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
