Behavioral Health Technician Job Summary
Our clinic is looking for a Behavioral Health Technician to help us guide clients with substance abuse and related mental health issues through rehabilitation. As part of our behavior analysis team, you help administer medications and assess client behavior. We are looking for a candidate able to discern and communicate any changes in a client's mental or physical health. As you get to know and build trust with clients, you may also be asked to contribute to their treatment planning. Applicants who are familiar with crisis intervention methods are preferred.
Behavioral Health Technician Duties and Responsibilities
- Work one-on-one with clients
- Check vital signs
- Administer medications
- Assess mood changes
- Document or communicate any behavioral changes or issues
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations
Behavioral Health Technician Requirements and Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED certificate
- Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, or a similar field is a plus
- Registered Behavioral Technician certification strongly preferred
- Crisis intervention
- CPR/First Aid certification
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to remain calm in stressful situations
- Physical ability to manage client needs
- Communication skills
