Bank Teller Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced, diligent teller to join our company. You'll be responsible for the safe and accurate handling of money through activities such as verifying the customer's identity and making sure their account has enough money to cover the transaction. Our bank teller must be detail-oriented and precise, so as not to make mistakes in the critical phase of customer transactions. Bank Teller Duties and Responsibilities

  • Counting cash in drawer at the start of each shift
  • Accepting cash, checks, and other forms of payment from customers
  • Preparing specialized types of funds, such as money orders, savings bonds, and checks
  • Exchanging dollars for foreign currency
  • Answering questions from customers about their accounts
  • Recording all transactions electronically throughout the shift
  • Ordering checks and bank cards for customers

Bank Teller Requirements and Qualifications

  • High school diploma
  • At least one month of on-the-job training
  • Working knowledge of computer software used for financial products and services offered
  • Background check
  • Customer skills, and must be good with numbers
