Automotive Service Technician Job Summary

We are looking for an Automotive Service Technician to join our shop. You will run diagnostic tests and perform basic repairs and routine maintenance on cars and small trucks. Typical job duties include checking fluid levels, rotating tires, changing oil and other fluids, and replacing batteries and belts. You must also be familiar with steering, suspension, brakes, and air conditioning systems. We prefer candidates who have extensive automotive repair experience, mechanical skills and are ASE certified. This role involves providing estimates and explaining repairs to customers, so you also need to have excellent customer service skills.

Automotive Service Technician Duties and Responsibilities

  • Run diagnostic tests
  • Test functionality of parts
  • Provide labor and time estimates
  • Perform basic repairs
  • Complete routine maintenance, including oil changes and automatic transmission fluid exchanges
