Athletic Trainer Job Summary

We are looking for a knowledgeable Athletic Trainer to work with our students. You will oversee the prevention and treatment of sports-related injuries, taping and bandaging injured limbs, providing first aid, and monitor rehabilitation training. When necessary, you will refer students to be evaluated by a physician or transported to the hospital for immediate care. In collaboration with our athletic staff, you will also coordinate and implement programs on proper fitness training, exercise techniques, and nutrition.

Athletic Trainer Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct intake assessment
  • Evaluate athlete injuries, conditions, and illnesses
  • Develop customized treatment plans
  • Communicate with physicians regarding diagnostic test results
  • Make recommendations for next steps in athlete care
  • Attend sporting events to provide on-site care as needed
  • Coordinate annual and bi-annual physical exams
  • Maintain medical records for all athletes

Athletic Trainer Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree inathletic training, health, physical education, kinesiology, or a related field
  • First Aid and CPR Certification required
  • 2+ years of experience working with athletes or fitness clients
  • Some local travel required
  • Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation
