Asset Protection Specialist Job Summary
Our retail company is searching for an Asset Protection Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will train employees on ways they can identify and safely deter theft. While your main goal is to prevent inventory shrinkage, this an asset protection role, and since we consider our employees as assets, we do not want them to take any unnecessary risks. If incidents do escalate, you must contact and communicate with additional security or law enforcement personnel.
Asset Protection Specialist Duties and Responsibilities
- Identify possible instances of theft or fraud
- Train employees on non-confrontational ways to deter theft
- Review security footage to identify repeat offenders
- Develop business strategies to reduce inventory shrinkage
- Communicate with law enforcement as needed
Asset Protection Specialist Requirements and Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED certificate
- Retail or loss prevention experience strongly preferred
- Bilingual communication skills a plus
- Attention to detail
- De-escalation skills
- Physical stamina
