MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented DevOps Developer to join our team in Herndon, VA.
The DevOps Developer will perform DevOps tasks to help maintain and optimize our CI/CD pipeline and further the automation of tasks for the customer. This role supports the tuning of our environments for efficiency, performance, and scalability, while also contributing to the software development of specific features. You will help design and implement the architecture that powers the software products our team develops, leveraging proven systems design and scalability experience within a collaborative, fast-paced team of Software Developers, Systems Development Engineers, and Data Engineers.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Deploying and provisioning AWS resources including EC2, S3, RDS, EBS, ELB, IAM, Security Groups, CloudWatch, VPC, Route53, and Auto Scaling templates
  • Building, maintaining, and troubleshooting continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes using GitLab, GitHub, or Jenkins
  • Running vulnerability scans, patching systems, and updating cloud and physical infrastructures to ensure operational security
  • Designing, building, maintaining, and troubleshooting Kubernetes clusters to ensure uninterrupted productivity for the development team
  • Providing software development for specific features, particularly those related to the Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) process
  • Building, maintaining, and troubleshooting new technologies, services, and features to support proactive innovation

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or 4+ years of additional IT experience in lieu of degree
  • 10+ years of experience in full-stack software development
  • Experience working within Amazon Web Services (AWS) environments
  • Experience with Linux or Windows system administration
  • Experience working with Elasticsearch architectures
  • Ability to leverage strong problem-solving, verbal, and written communication skills across a large team

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Kubernetes, containerized workloads, and orchestration tools
  • Active AWS Certification(s)
  • Expertise in JavaScript/ECMAScript, including code stitching, minimization, and Restful API development
  • Experience building enterprise security strategies for cloud infrastructure or validating file ingestion pipelines

Clearance Requirements:
  • An active TS/SCI with Polygraph.

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery.
  • Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, and server environments.
  • Constantly positions self to maintain computers in the lab, including under desks and in the server closet.
  • Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations.
