Job description

Position: Junior Project Manager – Cellular/Mobile Technologies

Duration: 12 Months

Client Location: Kanata, ON, K2V 1C6

Engagement Model: Professional Services Engagement – B2B (Incorporated Entities Preferred)


About the Engagement

Akkodis is seeking the services of an experienced Project Manager consultant to support connected-vehicle software development programs within a fast-paced technology environment. This engagement involves coordinating project execution across software development, release management, vendor communications, requirements tracking, and stakeholder reporting. The consultant will work closely with engineering, QA, hardware, and connectivity teams to ensure successful delivery of critical software initiatives.


Services to be Provided

  • Coordinate day-to-day project execution across software development teams.
  • Manage Jira planning activities, sprint tracking, issue management, and release coordination.
  • Support software release planning and execution across engineering, QA, and external vendors.
  • Track requirements, dependencies, risks, blockers, and action items throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Prepare project dashboards, executive status reports, and leadership updates.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project deliverables remain on schedule.
  • Support documentation quality, workflow optimization, and reporting efficiency through the use of AI-assisted tools, LLMs, and prompt engineering.
  • Facilitate communication and alignment between software, hardware, and connectivity teams.


Expertise Required

  • 3–5 years of professional experience as a Project Manager or Technical Project Manager.
  • Proven experience supporting software development teams in a technical environment.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), and release planning processes.
  • Hands-on experience with Jira and project reporting/dashboard tools.
  • Experience managing project requirements, dependencies, risks, and vendor communications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced project environment.


Nice to Have

  • Experience working with hardware development teams.
  • Familiarity with cellular/mobile technologies, telematics, or mobile network certification processes.
  • Experience within automotive, mobility, telecommunications, or embedded systems environments.
  • Exposure to AI-assisted productivity tools, including Large Language Models (LLMs) and prompt engineering.
  • Experience supporting connected-vehicle or IoT-related software programs.


Additional Information

  • Manage Jira issues, priorities, dependencies, and sprint/release planning activities.
  • Support software release coordination across engineering, QA, and third-party vendors.
  • Monitor project progress and proactively identify risks, blockers, and mitigation strategies.
  • Develop dashboards and executive-level reporting to improve project visibility.
  • Ensure timely communication and coordination among stakeholders.
  • Leverage AI-powered tools to streamline reporting, meeting preparation, documentation, and workflow management.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration across software, hardware, and connectivity teams.
