Job description

ADVANCE YOUR CAREER. ADVANCE THE WORLD.

At AMD, we believe technology can change lives for the better. It can heal us, entertain us, and make us more connected, productive, and understanding of the world around us. And we’re looking for talent who feel the same: people who want to leave the planet better than they found it, those who don’t shy away from humanity’s challenges but are determined to help solve them.

AMD is powering the next generation of supercomputing, high-performance computing, cloud, and AI. Whether you’re designing next-gen processors, enabling AI breakthroughs, or creating go-to-market plans, every role at AMD contributes to something bigger — technology that moves the world forward.

THE ROLE:

AMD is seeking a highly experienced and customer-focused Senior Cloud Sales Specialist to accelerate cloud revenue growth across North America by driving customer adoption of AMD-powered cloud and AI solutions across leading Cloud Service Providers (CSPs).

This is a senior, quota-carrying sales overlay role that works alongside AMD’s enterprise sales teams to identify, develop, and close strategic cloud opportunities. You will engage directly with customers to understand their cloud, infrastructure, application, and AI strategies; identify where AMD technology can deliver differentiated value; and help account teams translate those opportunities into pipeline, workload adoption, and revenue.

Working across the North America Cloud Sales organization, you will collaborate with AMD Account Executives, Cloud Account teams, Solution Architects, Business Units, and field organizations across AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, and the broader cloud ecosystem. You will help connect customer needs to the right AMD-powered solutions and orchestrate the technical, partner, and sales resources needed to move complex opportunities from discovery through evaluation and close.

The ideal candidate combines strong enterprise selling skills with cloud and AI expertise, technical credibility, and the ability to operate as a trusted advisor to both customers and internal sales teams.

THE PERSON:

Does this sound like you? We’d love to talk!

You are a strategic, technically credible cloud sales professional who thrives at the intersection of customers, technology, and partnerships. You understand how enterprises are modernizing infrastructure, adopting AI, and optimizing workloads across public and hybrid cloud environments—and how to turn those priorities into meaningful sales opportunities.

You bring:

  • Proven success in quota-carrying enterprise cloud sales, cloud business development, or technically oriented solution selling
  • Demonstrated ability to develop account strategies, grow pipeline and revenue, and achieve strategic sales objectives
  • Strong experience in Cloud Sales, preferably with major CSP’s, enterprise cloud adoption, and cloud consumption models
  • Experience identifying, developing, and closing complex cloud opportunities within large enterprise customers
  • Knowledge of modern cloud and AI workloads, including AI/ML, data and analytics, HPC, databases, cloud-native applications, and compute-intensive workloads
  • Ability to translate technical capabilities into compelling customer business outcomes across performance, efficiency, scalability, and total cost of ownership
  • Experience collaborating with CSPs, enterprise sales teams, Solution Architects, ISVs, GSIs, and broader partner ecosystems
  • Strong executive communication, presentation, and consultative selling skills
  • Ability to influence and drive alignment across complex, highly matrixed organizations without direct authority
  • Strategic mindset balanced with strong execution discipline, curiosity, and bias for action
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Cloud Sales, Pipeline & Revenue Growth
  • Meet or exceed assigned pipeline, revenue, and sales objectives across AMD’s North America cloud business
  • Partner with AMD Account Executives as a cloud sales specialist to identify whitespace, develop opportunities, shape winning strategies, and help close complex customer engagements
  • Engage directly with enterprise customers to understand their cloud and AI strategies, business priorities, workloads, and technical requirements
  • Position AMD-powered solutions across public cloud, AI infrastructure, compute, data center, and emerging workload opportunities
  • Develop and progress opportunities from initial discovery through technical evaluation, workload adoption, and revenue realization
  • Maintain disciplined pipeline management, forecasting, and opportunity tracking
Customer & Workload Strategy
  • Identify customer workloads and use cases where AMD technology can deliver differentiated business and technical value across cloud and AI environments
  • Help customers evaluate cloud migration, modernization, optimization, AI, and new workload opportunities across public and hybrid cloud environments
  • Translate AMD capabilities into compelling customer outcomes across performance, scalability, efficiency, TCO, and AI compute
  • Partner with technical resources to develop solution strategies, evaluations, benchmarks, proofs of concept, and workload optimization plans
  • Serve as a trusted cloud and AI advisor to customers while helping AMD account teams strengthen their cloud selling capabilities
CSP & Co-Sell Execution
  • Develop strong working relationships across AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, and other strategic cloud partner sales and technical organizations
  • Connect AMD account teams with CSP sellers, Solution Architects, and partner organizations to identify and accelerate joint customer opportunities
  • Develop and execute co-sell strategies that align AMD, CSP, and customer priorities
  • Collaborate across ISVs, GSIs, and broader ecosystem partners to develop integrated solutions and expand customer adoption
  • Represent AMD in strategic customer engagements, partner events, workshops, and industry forums
AI, Cloud & Solution Growth
  • Drive adoption of AMD-powered solutions supporting AI, machine learning, analytics, HPC, cloud-native applications, enterprise infrastructure, and emerging workloads
  • Help customers identify opportunities to leverage AMD technology for next-generation AI and cloud infrastructure requirements
  • Collaborate with AMD technical and product teams to articulate differentiated value across AMD’s cloud and AI portfolio
  • Stay current on evolving AI, cloud, workload, and competitive trends to identify new customer opportunities and inform sales strategy
Cross-Functional Leadership
  • Partner closely with AMD Sales, Solution Architecture, Engineering, Product Management, Business Units, and Marketing teams to develop and execute customer strategies
  • Coordinate the technical, sales, and partner resources needed to progress complex opportunities and remove execution barriers
  • Surface customer requirements, competitive intelligence, and market insights to help influence product and go-to-market priorities
  • Drive alignment and accountability across internal and external stakeholders throughout the sales cycle
Operational Excellence & AI-Enabled Selling
  • Maintain strong account planning, pipeline management, forecasting, and opportunity management discipline
  • Leverage data, analytics, and AI-enabled tools to improve opportunity identification, account planning, customer engagement, forecasting, and sales productivity
  • Use business insights and market intelligence to prioritize resources and focus investment on the highest-value opportunities
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:Cloud & Enterprise Sales
  • Proven experience in enterprise cloud sales, cloud business development, technical sales, or solution selling
  • Experience working across major public cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, or similar cloud ecosystems
  • Demonstrated success developing and closing complex enterprise cloud opportunities and achieving revenue objectives
Technical & Workload Expertise
  • Strong understanding of public cloud infrastructure, compute, virtualization, storage, networking, and cloud-native architectures
  • Familiarity with AI infrastructure, AI/ML workloads, data and analytics, HPC, databases, and modern enterprise applications
  • Understanding of workload performance, cloud economics, optimization, scalability, and TCO considerations
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and business audiences
