Job description

Summary

Title: Technical Advisor

Work Location: Kenworth Mirabel (18160 R. J.-A.-Bombardier, Mirabel, QC J7J 0H5)

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 hours/day

Salary: Between 60K-77K, depending on experience

Summary of Responsibilities
  • Greet customers promptly by phone or in person.
  • Open repair orders by entering information related to the vehicle to be repaired.
  • Schedule appointments according to workshop availability.
  • Accurately record customer requests on the Work Order, one operation per request. Always indicate the repair code (Repair Type).
  • If applicable, estimate the repair costs for heavy vehicles by inspecting components under the truck, inside the hood, or elsewhere, and provide the estimate to the customer.
  • Inform the customer whether repairs are covered by the manufacturer’s warranty.
  • Agree with the customer on the payment method for repairs.
  • Keep the customer informed when parts needed for the repair are on backorder.
  • Promote preventive maintenance programs, specials, or any other products and services appropriate for the customer’s vehicle.
  • Close the repair order once verified by the shop foreman, and assign costs to the customer, warranty, or goodwill policy request.
  • Receive, install tags, maintain cleanliness, and drive trucks.
  • Communicate with the foreman and technical advisors.
  • Provide support as needed for document filing.
Qualifications
  • Proficiency in French and basic English.
    • English competency level: basic reading and writing
    • Frequency : daily for communications with clients outside Quebec for repair needs.
  • Customer-service oriented ; 
  • Team spirit ;
  • Knowledge of heavy equipement mechanics (bonus) ;
  • Experience in interpreting warranties specific to the trucking industry (bonus).
