Job description

Role: Senior Copywriter  

Location: Wilmington, United States

About the role: 
You'll be a driving creative force in the studio, partnering with the Senior Art Director to concept and craft work that spans digital, social, email, print, OOH, and beyond. Working across campaign, brand, and loyalty creative simultaneously, you'll write copy that balances the client's brand voice with the clarity and compliance requirements of financial services marketing. Success means copy that is distinctive, strategically grounded, and effective - ideas that move business metrics while elevating the creative standard of the partnership. Your conceptual range, editorial instincts, and ability to present and defend creative decisions to clients will make you an essential part of how this studio delivers
What you will be doing: 
  • Lead the conceptual development and copywriting of integrated marketing campaigns across the client's cobranded credit card portfolio
  • Work in close creative partnership with the Senior Art Director, developing cohesive concepts and executions from brief through to final delivery 
  • Concept and write across a broad mix of channels including digital, social, email, print, and OOH 
  • Develop and maintain a consistent, compelling brand voice across campaign, brand, and loyalty program creative, ensuring all copy aligns with the client's brand guidelines.
  • Translate creative briefs into strong conceptual ideas, bringing a sharp strategic and editorial perspective to every project 
  • Present and articulate creative work and copy rationale to client stakeholders with confidence and clarity.
  • Navigate compliance and legal approval processes inherent to financial services marketing, ensuring copy meets regulatory requirements without losing its creative impact 
  • Support and mentor a mid-level copywriter within the studio, providing constructive feedback and creative guidance to help develop their skills 
  • Collaborate closely with the Account Manager and studio leadership to ensure creative output is aligned with strategic and business objectives 
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, delivering high-quality copy within agreed timelines 
  • Stay current with trends in language, culture, and communications, bringing fresh and relevant thinking to the studio 
What you need to be great in this role: 
  • 6-10 years of copywriting experience, ideally within a marketing agency, in-house studio, or regulated industry environment 
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating conceptual range, editorial craft, and experience writing across a mix of digital and traditional channels - a portfolio or writing samples are required as part of your application 
  • Experience working within a regulated industry; financial services and/or loyalty program experience is strongly preferred 
  • Proven ability to concept and write across multiple channels simultaneously, from long-form to short-form copy 
  • Comfortable presenting creative work and copy rationale to external client stakeholders with confidence and clarity 
  • Experience working as part of a creative partnership, ideally alongside an art director 
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain a consistent brand voice across a complex, multi-channel account 
  • Comfortable supporting and mentoring junior or mid-level creatives 
  • Ability to thrive in a hybrid work environment with a 3-day in-office schedule at our Wilmington, Delaware location 
  • Experience working on co-branded credit card, loyalty, or rewards marketing programs 
  • Familiarity with compliance-driven copy approval workflows within financial services marketing 
  • Experience writing for travel, airline, or  consumer financial products
  • At the time of this posting, the base salary for this position may range from $106,250.00 to $118,750.00 USD. Individual compensation varies based on job related factors, including location, business needs, level of responsibility, experience, and qualifications. The range listed is just one component of OLIVER's total compensation package.
