This position is located in Burnsville, NC.

Job Summary and Qualifications

Role Summary: The Group Exercise Instructor leads exercise sessions for groups of participants. The group may be heterogeneous, including individuals with different fitness levels, medical concerns and ages, or homogenous, with individuals who have similar characteristics such as arthritis, frail and elderly, or pregnancy. Examples of group exercise classes include but are not limited to step aerobics, yoga, Zumba, easy aerobics, piyo, stretching, indoor cycling, etc. 

What qualifications you will need:
  • Required Education: High school diploma or GED, must be 18 years of age or older
  • Preferred Education: Bachelor's degree in exercise science, community health, or exercise physiology.
  • Required License: Certification as a Group Exercise Instructor by a nationally accredited organization and/ or specialty fitness certification. Ability to obtain CPR certification within 90 days of start date.
  • Preferred Experience: .100 hours of experience a group exercise instructor in an organized, specialized recreation or commercial fitness program.
