Job description

Community 247 is seeking enthusiastic and reliable volunteers to support the Mama Bear's Zen and Gen Win Youth Activities Workshop Series. These free workshops are offered throughout the year and provide educational, wellness, and enrichment opportunities for youth, parents, and community members.

Volunteers play a vital role in ensuring workshops are well-organized, welcoming, and successful. Responsibilities include event coordination support, community outreach, participant registration, and on-site event assistance.

Key Responsibilities

Pre-Event Planning and Coordination

  • Assist with contacting and confirming guest speakers, presenters, and workshop facilitators.
  • Help verify venue availability and coordinate scheduling logistics.
  • Assist with ordering and organizing workshop supplies, materials, and refreshments.
  • Maintain communication with team members regarding event preparation timelines.
  • Help prepare workshop packets, handouts, signage, and registration materials.

Marketing and Promotion

  • Assist with promoting workshops through community outreach efforts.
  • Share event information through social media, email campaigns, and community networks.
  • Distribute flyers and promotional materials when needed.
  • Encourage community participation and engagement in upcoming workshops.

Event Day Support

  • Arrive before scheduled events to assist with setup and preparation.
  • Prepare registration and welcome areas.
  • Check in and register participants as they arrive.
  • Welcome guests and provide directions or event information.
  • Assist guest speakers with materials, room setup, and logistical needs.
  • Support participants throughout the workshop and answer basic questions.
