Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client seeking a Systems Administrator in Hollywood, FL with strong experience supporting SCADA, PLC, and industrial control systems within a public works or utilities environment. This role is responsible for the design, configuration, maintenance, and support of SCADA systems supporting water and wastewater operations, including treatment facilities and pump stations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design, configure, and implement SCADA, PLC, and HMI solutions for water and wastewater operations
* Provide technical leadership for system architecture, enhancements, and large-scale projects
* Maintain and support SCADA systems, ensuring high availability, performance, and data integrity
* Install, configure, test, and maintain AVEVA InTouch and System Platform applications
* Monitor system operations and proactively resolve incidents and performance issues
* Implement cybersecurity, security, and compliance controls for industrial control systems
* Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and equipment specifications
* Install and maintain control equipment including electrical, mechanical, digital, and analog components
* Support PLC programming efforts, trending, alarms, and operational reporting
* Manage alarms and communications using WIN911 (Smartsights) and AVEVA platforms
* Provide technical direction to systems integrators and plant technicians
* Maintain documentation, diagrams, and technical libraries
* Collaborate with IT teams and follow established escalation and support procedures
* Provide occasional after-hours or emergency support as required
REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or a related field, or equivalent experience
* Minimum of 3 years of experience supporting SCADA or industrial control systems in a utilities or public works environment
* Strong knowledge of Allen Bradley PLCs (RSLogix 500 and 5000)
* Experience with Rockwell Automation and Wonderware / AVEVA System Platform
* Knowledge of industrial networking protocols (Modbus, Ethernet/IP, HART)
* Experience with variable frequency drives (VFDs) and industrial power monitoring systems
* Familiarity with SCADA telemetry and industrial communications
* Basic knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and database concepts
* Understanding of Microsoft Server and Client operating systems
* Ability to read technical drawings and schematics
* Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and documentation skills
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in water or wastewater treatment environments
Formal training in AVEVA InTouch or System Platform
Experience with Phoenix Contact radio systems
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
