Job description

Overview

This role is at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, supporting Spirit’s Commercial Business Units (“Spirit Commercial”). Spirit Commercial designs and builds commercial aerostructures, including for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, one of Boeing’s three business units and the premier manufacturer of commercial jetliners for decades. Spirit Commercial’s core products include fuselages, pylons, nacelles and wing components, with a focus on innovative composite and aluminium manufacturing solutions


Responsibilities

The Workplace Training Coaches will provide area specific (Composite-Layup) training and instruction for shop floor employees. We are growing and have opportunities for those who are already confident in their subject matter areas and those who want to make an impact on the success of our employees.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Will interface with shop personnel daily and identify remedial training needs and formulate plans of delivering training
  • Maintain personnel certifications
  • Provide classroom training as needed
  • Work with organizations and employees on coaching activities
  • Develop and lead projects
  • Develop and maintain working relationships with organizations
  • Conduct certification training sessions, product demonstrations, and criteria for evaluating effectiveness of training activities
  • Provide Workplace Training as needed
  • Collaborate with other employees of the human resources organization to assist with processes and systems to effectively attract, reward, and motivate Spirit's workforce

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 2nd Shift Only
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in Composite Layup 

  • Experience in ordering and managing materials

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)

  • Working knowledge of a Learning Management System (LMS) for managing personal training activities

  • Strong communication skills with a positive attitude, patience, and adaptability

  • Willing to work any shift as needed

  • Self-motivated and able to work independently

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Recognized subject matter expert with experience mentoring, training, and developing others both in-person and online

  • Passion for coaching employees and helping teams succeed

  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and correct process flaws

  • Skilled in communication, computer applications, and goal setting with constructive feedback

  • Experience or knowledge across multiple fabrication areas such as Sheet metal, Skin Fab, and Machine Fab

  • Understanding of organizational quality metrics and blueprint reading

  • Quick learner who thrives in both independent and fast-paced team environments
