Job description

Be part of an amazing story

Macy’s is more than just a store. We’re a story. One that’s captured the hearts and minds of America for more than 160 years. A story about innovations and traditions…about inspiring stores and irresistible products…about the excitement of the Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks, and the wonder of the Thanksgiving Day Parade. We’ve been part of memorable moments and milestones for countless customers and colleagues. Those stories are part of what makes this such a special place to work.

Job Overview

The Senior Manager, Workfront System Administrator serves as the strategic owner and architect of Macy’s enterprise marketing work management platform, anchored in Adobe Workfront. This role is accountable for designing, governing, and evolving the operating model that enables how marketing work is requested, prioritized, resourced, executed, integrated, and measured across Macy’s Marketing organization. This role defines platform architecture, governance frameworks, and cross-system alignment, ensuring Workfront operates as a scalable enterprise system of record that supports marketing strategy, campaign and project management, capacity planning, and operational performance analytics. This position partners closely with Marketing Leadership, Product Management, Marketing Technology, Engineering, and Business Intelligence to translate business strategy into sustainable platform design.

What You Will Do

Platform Architecture & Strategy: Adobe Workfront

  • Owns the enterprise architecture for marketing work management, including data models, object standards, workflow design, intake frameworks, and reporting structures
  • Defines and maintains the long-term platform roadmap, aligning Adobe’s product roadmap to Macy’s marketing strategy and operating priorities
  • Serves as the design authority for how marketing work is structured, governed, and scaled across portfolios, programs, and channels
  • Evaluates, pilots, and governs the use of AI driven capabilities within Adobe Workfront and adjacent technologies—including native Adobe in app intelligence and approved third party AI tools—to enhance workflow efficiency, intake quality, demand forecasting, reporting insights, and user productivity
  • Evaluates architectural tradeoffs (standardization vs. flexibility) to ensure scalability, governance, and analytical integrity
  • Participates in Adobe product roadmap alongside Product Management and translates it into how enhancements or system changes can benefit Macy’s
  • Plays a key role in Adobe Workfront supplier relationship related to system development and advancing utilization within Macy’s user groups

Governance & Decisioning: Platform regulation, driving adoption and use of Workfront

  • Leads the Workfront Governance Council, setting and enforcing enterprise standards for configuration, usage, and change management across Marketing and on partnering departmental teams
  • Establishes guardrails to protect data integrity, reporting accuracy, and downstream analytics
  • Defines configuration rules and approval paths for changes with integration or reporting impact
  • Acts as the final decision-maker on platform design choices that affect cross-team workflows or enterprise metrics
  • Directs in system implementation for functionality modules or new/existing group rollouts
  • Develops an annual Workfront enhancement/update plan in collaboration with Product Management and Tech that incorporates new releases from Adobe paired with current functionality
  • Defines enablement strategies that ensure platform adoption aligns with intended architectural design
  • Elevates platform literacy across Marketing by explaining why design decisions matter—not just how to use the system

Platform Operations & Configuration Delivery: Ensuring system utilization, user adoption and stability

  • Executing configuration changes (custom forms, templates, routing logic, portfolios, etc.) that are aligned to the platform’s architecture and governance standards
  • Managing user-level support, access, and permissions to maintain data quality, integrity, and compliance with governance models
  • Responding to and triaging Workfront support requests where platform expertise is required to validate business impact or architectural alignment
  • Conducting routine platform audits, resolving data inconsistencies, and ensuring configurations continue to support scalable reporting and workflow design needs
  • Conducts regular audits on system utilization and data to increase system quality, resolve inconsistencies and correct workflows

Cross-System & Martech Ecosystem Integration

  • Partners with Marketing Technology and Engineering teams to ensure platform alignment and architectural compatibility across the Martech ecosystem
  • Designs Workfront configurations with awareness of integration impacts to data pipelines, reporting environments, and downstream execution systems
  • Collaborates on intake, metadata, and workflow design to support future automation and system connectivity

Process Architecture & Platform-Enabled Optimization

  • Partners closely with the Sr. Manager, Process Design & Optimization to translate future state marketing workflows into scalable, system enabled solutions within Adobe Workfront
  • Ensures that all process design and optimization efforts serve as direct inputs into platform architecture, informing how Workfront is configured, automated, and governed
  • Co designs end to end workflows that not only improve operational efficiency, but fully leverage Workfront capabilities—including automation, routing logic, standardized intake, metadata architecture, and system driven controls
  • Acts as the system translation authority, validating that newly designed processes are accurately and effectively represented through Workfront configuration, workflows, and data models
  • Identifies opportunities where platform capabilities can replace manual process steps, reduce handoffs, and automate decisioning through intelligent workflow design
  • Ensures alignment between process intent and system behavior, confirming that Workfront operates as the execution engine for agreed upon operating models rather than a point in time documentation of process
  • Continuously evaluates how evolving Workfront functionality can unlock additional automation and optimization opportunities, feeding insights back into future process design initiatives
  • Partnering with process training team in delivering training, job aids, and onboarding to support user adoption and ensure users operate in alignment with platform standards

Analytics Enablement & Decision Support

  • Architects the operational data model that enables portfolio, capacity, and performance reporting
  • Partners with Business Intelligence to ensure Workfront metadata and configurations support reliable, scalable analytics
  • Owns the definition of platform KPIs and operational success metrics
  • Designs reports and dashboards to aid in user workflow, portfolio/program/projects, channel project types and resource management

Who You Are

  • Regularly required to sit, talk, hear; use hands/fingers to touch, handle, and feel. Occasionally required to move about the workplace and reach with hands and arms. Requires close vision.
