The Role

The Senior Manager, Marketing Operations, is the operational engine behind Plexus' marketing organization. This role transforms strategy into execution by designing and optimizing the people, processes, and technology that enable high-performing marketing teams to deliver exceptional work at scale.

Reporting directly to the Chief Marketing Officer, this leader serves as a strategic partner, managing the end-to-end creative lifecycle-from project intake and prioritization through production, delivery, and measurement. They lead the Marketing Operations and Traffic Management team, ensuring the right work is prioritized, resources are optimized, and campaigns are delivered with speed, quality, and consistency.

Key Performance Objectives

Build a Best-in-Class Marketing Operations Function

Design and continuously improve scalable project management, traffic, and creative operations processes that enable the marketing organization to execute efficiently while maintaining exceptional quality.

Translate Strategy into Execution

Partner closely with the Chief Marketing Officer and cross-functional leaders to understand strategic priorities, establish execution plans, remove obstacles, and ensure initiatives move efficiently from concept through delivery.

Drive Operational Excellence Through Process and Technology

Continuously evaluate workflows, technology, and resource allocation to improve efficiency, increase visibility, reduce bottlenecks, and create measurable improvements across the marketing organization.

Performance Accountabilities

Marketing Operations & Process Leadership

  • Continuously optimize end-to-end marketing and creative operations processes that improve speed, quality, and scalability.
  • Develop standardized Go-to-Market (GTM) frameworks, campaign workflows, and tiered launch playbooks that create consistency across marketing initiatives.
  • Build governance around project intake, prioritization, approvals, execution, and asset distribution.
  • Continuously identify operational improvements that reduce complexity and improve team efficiency.

Project & Portfolio Management

  • Maintain executive-level visibility across all active marketing initiatives while proactively identifying risks, resource constraints, and timeline conflicts.
  • Partner with business leaders to prioritize projects based on strategic business objectives.
  • Forecast project timelines, capacity requirements, and resource allocation while providing solutions for high-priority requests.
  • Ensure marketing campaigns and creative deliverables are completed on time, on budget, and aligned with business expectations.

Technology & Systems Leadership

  • Serve as the business owner and administrator for marketing operations technology, including Workfront, Digital Asset Management (DAM) platforms, and future workflow tools.
  • Manage  Workfront request queues, forms, workflows, dashboards, reporting, and project templates that improve operational effectiveness.
  • Evaluate new technologies that improve collaboration, automation, reporting, and creative productivity.

Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Serve as the operational liaison between Marketing, Creative, Product Marketing, Legal, Product Development, Compliance, Sales, and other business functions.
  • Ensure project briefs, objectives, priorities, and deliverables remain aligned throughout execution.
  • Build strong relationships across the organization while balancing competing priorities and stakeholder expectations.

Performance Measurement & Business Intelligence

  • Establish operational KPIs that measure project throughput, turnaround time, resource utilization, workload capacity, and overall marketing effectiveness.
  • Develop dashboards and executive reporting that demonstrate operational performance and marketing team ROI.
  • Use data and analytics to recommend process improvements and operational enhancements.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of Marketing Operations and Traffic Management professionals.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
  • Provide clear priorities, remove obstacles, and create development opportunities that strengthen team capability.
  • Support occasional evening, weekend, or holiday work when business priorities require.

Performance Qualifications

Required Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, Project Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7+ years of progressive experience in Marketing Operations, Creative Operations, Project Management, or Marketing Program Management.
  • Minimum of 3+ years leading and developing high-performing teams.
  • Experience designing scalable operational processes rather than simply executing existing workflows.
  • Extensive experience administering Adobe Workfront, including custom forms, request queues, reporting, workflow automation, project templates, and governance.
  • Experience managing creative operations within a fast-paced consumer products, direct selling, retail, or omnichannel marketing environment.
  • Demonstrated success leading significant operational, process, or technology transformation initiatives.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience within Direct Selling, Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG), retail, e-commerce, or high-growth consumer brands.
  • Experience implementing or optimizing Digital Asset Management (DAM) platforms.
  • Familiarity with Product Marketing and Go-to-Market launch planning.
