Job Description:
Our client is seeking a Data Analyst. This is a 7-month contract based in Milwaukee, Wi. If you are interested please reach out to Ryan.
About the Team
Our team supports multiple technologies including Workday, Power BI, Tableau, Microsoft SQL Server, and SSIS. We are evolving toward a unified workforce data platform and are looking for a highly collaborative contractor to help support our reporting portfolio while contributing to broader analytics initiatives.
Position Summary
We are seeking a Workforce Reporting & Analytics Consultant to provide day-to-day support for workforce reporting, data requests, and reporting operations. This role will primarily support our Workday reporting environment while partnering with internal stakeholders to maintain and enhance existing reporting solutions.
The ideal candidate is a strong analyst who enjoys solving business problems, working directly with customers, and translating workforce questions into meaningful data solutions. Experience with Workday reporting is preferred, but we are interested in candidates with strong reporting, BI, database, and customer-facing skills who can quickly learn new platforms.
Key Responsibilities
  • Support existing workforce reports, dashboards, and recurring reporting processes.
  • Partner directly with Business HR, HR Solutions, Talent Acquisition, Workforce Planning, and other internal stakeholders to understand business needs and provide reporting solutions.
  • Troubleshoot reporting issues, investigate data discrepancies, and validate data quality.
  • Maintain and enhance Workday reports, dashboards, and calculated fields, including Workday Drive and PRISM reports.
  • Assist with operational reporting activities, including recurring monthly and weekly reporting processes.
  • Create ad hoc analyses and data extracts for business partners.
  • Document reporting processes, business definitions, and support procedures.
  • Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and platform specialists to improve reporting solutions.
  • Contribute to Power BI, Tableau, SQL, and workforce analytics initiatives as skills and business needs allow.
  • Help identify opportunities to simplify, automate, or modernize existing reporting processes.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in business intelligence, analytics, reporting, HR systems, or related fields.
  • Experience working directly with business customers and translating requirements into reporting solutions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with at least one reporting or BI platform such as Power BI, Tableau, Workday Reporting, Cognos, Business Objects, or similar.
  • Experience working with large datasets and performing data validation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Workday Reporting, Composite Reports, Dashboards, Discovery Boards, or Prism Analytics.
  • Experience writing SQL queries and working with relational databases.
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server or SSIS.
  • Experience with Power BI and/or Tableau development.
  • Experience supporting HR, Talent Acquisition, Workforce Planning, or People Analytics functions.
  • Experience documenting business processes and developing user-facing reporting guidance.
Success in This Role
The successful candidate will:
  • Build trust with internal customers through responsive, high-quality support.
  • Keep critical workforce reporting processes running smoothly during a period of transition.
  • Learn our HR data ecosystem and become productive quickly.
  • Effectively balance reporting execution, stakeholder communication, and continuous improvement.
  • Help the team identify opportunities to modernize and streamline reporting solutions.
What We're Looking For
We're less concerned with expertise in a specific reporting tool and more interested in finding someone who:
  • Is curious and learns new systems quickly.
  • Communicates effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Takes ownership and follows through on commitments.
  • Enjoys working directly with customers.
  • Can move comfortably between business questions, data investigation, and reporting solutions.
