Position Overview
The Dental Assistant – Advanced Clinical & Specialty Support role is designed for a highly
experienced assistant with strong clinical expertise and the ability to support advanced
procedures while contributing to production growth and efficient workflows. This position plays a
key role in maintaining a high-performing clinical environment through multi-column support,
specialty assisting, mentorship, and patient advocacy.
Key Responsibilities
Advanced Clinical & Specialty Assisting
● Provide chairside assistance for general, restorative, surgical, and orthodontic
procedures
● Support and assist with clear correct cases and perform clinical adjustments including
crowns, dentures, and occlusal guards
● Ensure efficient operatory setup, breakdown, and turnover to maintain consistent patient
flow
Production & Scheduling Support
● Collaborate with providers to strategically schedule procedures and support daily
production goals
● Independently manage a second column to improve efficiency and productivity
● Maintain smooth scheduling flow to minimize downtime and maximize provider utilization
Sedation Patient Advocacy
● Serve as a patient advocate during sedation procedures, ensuring safety, comfort,
and clear communication
● Assist with sedation workflows and ensure all protocols and documentation are followed
● Provide thorough pre- and post-operative instructions to patients and caregivers
Team Support & Mentorship
● Support onboarding and training of clinical team members
● Mentor assistants to maintain consistency, efficiency, and high clinical standards
● Provide support to new DDS providers to ensure smooth clinical flow
Operations & Workflow Efficiency
