The Opportunity
Join our production team as a Press Assistant, where you will support press operators in achieving quick, efficient make-readies for multicolor flexographic printing presses. You will help set up, repair, and maintain press equipment, ensuring high-quality output and smooth production flow. This role is essential to maintaining safety, efficiency, and accuracy within the press department.
How you will impact Smurfit WestRock
  • Review job tickets and select the correct type and quantity of materials needed for production.
  • Assist in material changeovers and ensure materials are prepared, organized, and ready for upcoming runs.
  • Clean and maintain press equipment and surrounding common areas to support a safe and efficient workspace.
  • Move printed and unprinted stock as necessary to support production workflow.
  • Assist press operators with preventative maintenance and basic equipment care.
  • Follow established standard operating procedures for all tasks.
  • Complete required documentation accurately and on time.
  • Assemble print cylinders and gears used in the press process.
  • Perform and review line clearance procedures.
  • Remove waste from the press area and maintain cleanliness standards.
  • Work safely and efficiently in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
