Job description

Provides network, communications, systems engineering and integration services necessary to implement and support new and upgraded networking services in a complex enterprise environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Performs a variety of network engineering and systems administration tasks that are concerned with the design and implementation of integrated networks, including personnel, hardware, software and support facilities and/or equipment.
  • Supports the planning and performance of network engineering research, systems design development, and other assignments in conformance with DISA STIGS, network design, engineering and customer specifications.
  • Shall make the operational availability, security, and maintenance of the WPAFB networks the primary focus of their support.
  • Provide day-to-day application administration, implementation, and configuration management support for the WPAFB monitoring tools and applications. i.e. Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE), Cisco Catalyst Center, Terminal Access Controller Access-Control System (TACACS), etc.
  • Shall provide monitoring, configuration control, technical services, and second level maintenance and repair for the networks and infrastructure that comprise the WPAFB Local/Metropolitan/Wide Area Networks (LAN/MAN/WAN).
  • Shall monitor the ServiceNow system for tickets assigned to the Infrastructure Operations Team and update the tracking system with status and resolution information.

Key Skills:
  • Cisco ISE experience, specifically with policy creation, TACACS management, AD integration, and 802.1x wired/wireless certificate based authentication
  • Cisco Catalyst Center infrastructure administration
  • Cisco Nexus, IOS-XE, and IOS layer 2/3 device management
  • SolarWinds node/device administration
  • Palo Alto Firewall Management Experience
  • Cisco FMC Experience
  • in-depth working knowledge of routing protocals

Requirements
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in network systems processes and procedures or skills equivalent to Air Force certification for the position task
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline and 5 years of experience in networking and computer systems. An additional 3 years experience may be substituted for the Bachelor's degree.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Visio applications.
  • DoD 8140.30: Information Assurance Technical Level I (IAT-I) Certification: Certified Automation Professional (CAP), Global Information Security Fundamentals (GISF), Global Security Leadership Certificate (GSLC) or Security+ (Security+ preferred)
  • Operating System (OS) Certification - Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) preferred.
  • Secret Clearance, with ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret
  • Excellent coordination and communication skills
