Job description

A leading manufacturing client is seeking a Network Engineer to support ongoing network lifecycle refresh initiatives. This role is based in Cleveland and will involve a mix of hands-on switch deployment work and partnering closely with network leadership on planning, documentation, and overall network improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Support network lifecycle refresh projects, including replacement of end-of-life switches
  • Configure, stage, install, and validate network equipment, primarily Cisco switches and routers
  • Perform pre- and post-cutover tasks, including updating monitoring and access tools
  • Coordinate with internal teams to schedule outages and ensure successful deployments
  • Provide hands-on support for rack/stack, cabling, and hardware installations
  • Assist with network documentation, planning, and system improvements
  • Troubleshoot network issues and support break/fix activities

Required Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in network engineering or related roles
  • Experience with Cisco networking technologies (switches, routers, wireless)
  • Hands-on experience with network deployments or lifecycle refresh projects
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, and switching concepts
  • Experience with network cabling (Cat5e/6 and fiber), installation, and troubleshooting
  • Ability to install and support physical network infrastructure

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with SolarWinds or similar monitoring tools
  • Experience with Cisco ISE or network access control
  • Experience working in manufacturing or plant environments
  • Experience with network documentation tools such as Visio

Work Environment

  • 100% onsite in Cleveland, OH
  • Combination of corporate office and plant environment work
  • PPE may be required in certain areas (e.g., safety glasses, steel-toed boots)
  • Occasional travel to nearby sites as needed

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $60.00/hr.
