Hospital Clinical Laboratory Scientist CLS

The Clinical Laboratory Scientist CLS will join an award-winning acute-care hospital recognized for patient safety and quality, where a CAP-accredited, CLIA-certified laboratory features total laboratory automation, digital cell morphology, MALDI-TOF, rapid PCR platforms, and a next-generation LIS with intelligent middleware. The Clinical Laboratory Scientist CLS will be part of an organization celebrated for innovation, recent service-line growth, strong community philanthropy, and sustained national accolades for outcomes and experience.

The Clinical Laboratory Scientist CLS will report to the Laboratory Manager and collaborate daily with Section Supervisors and Board-Certified Pathologists, backed by friendly nurses and a diverse healthcare team across the ED, ICU, perioperative services, and inpatient units. The Clinical Laboratory Scientist CLS will perform complex testing as a generalist in chemistry, hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, microbiology, and transfusion services; validate and troubleshoot analyzers; maintain QC/QA and regulatory readiness (CAP/CLIA/Joint Commission); support POCT; mentor colleagues; optimize STAT turnaround; and contribute to process improvement—all while leveraging robust pre-analytical support and modern automation. The Clinical Laboratory Scientist CLS will hold a current California CLS license, with ASCP certification preferred and prior hospital laboratory experience highly valued.
