Job description

The Windows System Engineer SME provides support and administration of the CAA and Army Contracting Command – Detroit Arsenal (ACC-DTA) in a Windows Server distributed environment.


· Perform Operating System (OS) tasks such as OS installation, upgrades, patches, fixes, testing, and troubleshooting

· Provide automation, continuous improvement recommendations, and implementation for all patching services

· Perform production control activities such as the support of cyclical changes to operational workloads, data administration, data compression, data restores, reorganization of files, recovery of systems, production of reports, download/upload of information, setup and verification of files and programs

· Create and manage a routine Maintenance Window schedule that adheres to the USCIS Configuration Change and Release Management (CCRM) process

· Perform log reviews and server configuration changes

· Coordinate OS upgrades, patches, fixes, and testing with stakeholders

· Analyze data and provide recommendations to address application high availability issues and requirements.


Required:

· Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a similar Information Technology Field.

· A minimum of 10 years’ experience in Windows engineering, specifically including:

· Analysis related to the design, development, and integration of hardware and software to support large-scale Windows environments with virtualization

· 10 years’ experience testing large-scale Windows environments.

· Experience performing a variety of engineering and operational-related assignments associated with Storage operations, backup operations, and virtualization software (VMware’s vSphere and Microsoft Hyper-V on a set of enterprise-level IT systems.

· 10 years’ experience writing scripts with a scripting language, with knowledge of ANSIBLE

· Familiarity with DevOps and ITIL processes

· Experienced in AWS, AZURE, Google Cloud Services, and other Cloud environments

· Secret Clearance
