Title: Virtualization and Server Administrator

Location: Bridgewater,NJ

JOB DESCRIPTION:-

The Virtualization and Server Administrator is responsible for advanced administration, design, build, implementation and support of server environments, including VMware vSphere-hosted virtual machines, Citrix XenApp farms, and physical Windows servers.

  This position also provides support of UNIX and LINUX server environments, disk storage systems, backup/restore environments, and local area network/wireless network communications equipment to effectively support the LifeCell's network and server operations.

  Primary Duties/Responsibilities: (give an estimated percentage of time for each duty) Essential Duties % of Time 1) Manage and administer Server Virtualization (VMware 4.x & 5.x/Citrix 5.x) and Windows Servers: Build/design VM Requirements, manage and perform physical server host and guest operating system maintenance, installation, patching, configuration, support, backup/restore, monitoring, trending. Administration of Windows server environments

Administration of SAN and disk storage Administration of LVM structures and file systems SQL Server administration

Tuning systems and I/O for optimal performance

Development, debugging and maintenance of shell scripts

Maintenance of user accounts, group membership and printer configurations 30% 2) Provide technical scripting, tooling and automation for continuous and efficient operations. 10% 3) Participates in activities/projects involving server hardware and/or disk storage solutions. Serve as team representative on projects related to server/storage builds. Responsible for more critical and senior level assignments, tasks and trouble-shooting. 10% 4) Operational Server Support activities: Define and implement system/applications monitoring procedures and health checks. Generate metrics to trend performance and overall resource consumption. Provide recommendations for hardware and software architectures. Produce and maintain documentation related to any and all activities, such as customer contact lists, escalation procedures, scheduled job inventories, "how-to" documents, and operational "cookbooks." 10% 5) In collaboration with Corporate IT, ensures compliance of policies and procedures are followed for the LifeCell network and servers. 5% 6) Participates in on-call rotation and after-hour duties. 10% 7) Generates metrics to trend disk storage consumption, server performance, and network utilization. 5% 8) Responsible for scheduling and monitoring all server backups and daily, monthly and year-end operational activities. 10%

9) Participates in Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity planning and execution. 10% University Degree BS degree in computer science or related field Please list degree type and area of study/concentration Experience: (please list specific experience and field of work) 1-3 yrs SAN, NAS, 3-5 yrs VMware/ Citrix Administration, SharePoint 2007 administration, Active Directory, Backup/Restore 5-7 yrs 7-10 yrs Windows Server Administration Other Required Skills: Bachelor's degree in computer-related field and minimum 6 years computer related experience, OR 10-12 years of computer related experience in Windows server administration. Minimum two years of experience in VMware Administration. Minimum two years of experience in Citrix Administration. Minimum two years of experience in SharePoint Administration. Minimum five years of experience in SQL, Active Directory and backup/restore.

At least 5 years of experience in Windows server administration Experience in Disaster Recovery concepts and strategies relative to data recovery Experience using MS Office applications including: Word, Outlook, Excel, and Visio Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Data Center Server Virtualization (VMware) 4.x & 5.x, Storage Area Networks (SAN), Network Attached Storage (NAS), Active Directory, and enterprise system backup/restore. Extensive and proven knowledge of Citrix technologies: XenApp 4x, 5.x & 6.x, XenDesktop 4.x and 5.x, Provisioning Services 5.6 and 6.x, Citrix NetScaler/Advanced Access Gateway 9.x, Web Interface and EdgeSight. Extensive and proven knowledge of SharePoint 2007. Experience building Windows 2008 or 2003 servers. Experience developing scripts and configuring performance monitoring tools. Two years of experience supporting Citrix Metaframe. Demonstrated communication, presentation, and written skills Ability to multi-task and deal with changing deadlines Demonstrated knowledge of technology processes Ability to troubleshoot complicated issues across multiple systems, regardless of architecture and driving the effort to a successful conclusion Ability to explain complicated technical solutions clearly to non-technical individuals Ability to grasp new concepts and learn new skills quickly Demonstrated willingness to assume new responsibilities, and initiative Demonstrated interpersonal skills Demonstrated logic, problem solving, and decision making skills 3 years of experience in Unix/Linux, enterprise disk storage, SAN and back/up restore administration
