About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Windows System Administrator to join our contract IT team. The ideal candidate will have 5โ€“7 years of hands-on experience managing Windows environments and a strong understanding of SQL databases. The selected candidate will be responsible for maintaining, securing, and optimizing our Windows-based infrastructure and supporting SQL systems that are critical to business operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Administer, maintain, and optimize Windows Server environments (2016/2019/2022).
Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and Windows patching. Monitor system performance and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues. Implement, support and maintain backup/recovery solutions and disaster recovery plans. Install, configure, and maintain SQL Server environments. Write and optimize SQL queries and scripts for system automation and reporting.
Collaborate with development and application teams to ensure system compatibility and performance.
Collaborate with customers, adjacent technical teams and all level of management to address systems issues.
Maintain security best practices, including system hardening and vulnerability management.
Produce documentation for system configurations, procedures, and change controls.

TECHNICAL SKILLS Must Have
Active Directory maintenance of VMware and Windows systems Windows Server management
Qualifications:
5โ€“7 years of experience in Windows system administration in mid to large-scale environments.
Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server (installation, maintenance, scripting, performance tuning).
Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation.
Higher level of familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V and Nutanix).
Understanding of network fundamentals (TCP/IP, firewalls, VPNs).
Knowledge of ITIL practices and change management processes is a plus.
Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
