Job description

Job Summary:
TekSynap is a fast growing high-tech company that understands both the pace of technology today and the need to have a comprehensive well planned information management environment. We are seeking a Senior Windows System Administrator to join our team in Rockville, MD, supporting the NRC-SNCC contract. The role involves server administration, helpdesk support, and management of various systems and infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
• Senior Windows 2022 / 2019/2016 administrator responsible for server administrations, installation and maintenance services for 100 physical and virtual servers in a Microsoft Active Directory environment.
• Provide Tier one to three system administration and helpdesk support to the NRC’s Documentum Safeguards Electronic Safe or other document management systems.
• Administer and maintain a multi-site Citrix XenDesktop VDI solution and associated thin clients for 250 endpoints.
• Administer and maintain on premise Microsoft Exchange server deployment for 250 users.
• Manage virtual infrastructure and hosts based on VMware technologies.
• Responsible for Barracuda Firewall Administration, VPN, and NAC solution or similar tools.
• Management of the daily data backup and retrieval scheme with Backup Exec and associated tape library hardware or other similar platforms.
• Hands on experience with system patch management tools such as Windows WSUS or similar tools.
• Previous experience required in applying patches in accordance with government guidelines and DISA STIG findings.
• Experience with third-party applications and tools such as antivirus or Adobe Acrobat.
• Participate in complete system builds, upgrades, migrations, code deployments and patch management.
• Configuration and testing of any new hardware and software.
• Create and/or update system design documentation, Standard Operating Procedures and Disaster Recovery plans.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in a computer related field of study plus 7 years of relevant experience.
• 10 years of related experience accepted in lieu of a degree.
• Must successfully pass a drug screening.
• Active or must be able to obtain Public Trust.
Preferred:
• Microsoft MCPS, MCSA, MCSE.
• Microsoft Certified Professional.
• Microsoft® Certified Solutions Expert: Server Infrastructure.
