Job description

Why Join Rincon Research Corporation (RRC)?

At Rincon Research Corporation, our primary business is innovating, developing, and fielding digital signal processing (DSP) products and services for the United States Defense and Intelligence Communities in support of national security.

Rincon Research Corporation (RRC), an employee owned company, is seeking a talented, tenacious, results-driven individual to work in a multi-disciplinary R&D environment with similarly motivated electrical engineers, mathematicians, computer scientists, and analysts who are collectively responsible for creating custom digital signal processing solutions and leveraging them to make an operational mission impact.

Come join the team that is creating cutting edge signal processing and geolocation systems for the future!

What are the primary responsibilities in the Windows System Administrator position?

A significant part of this role will be working through an Active Directory modernization, migration, and restructuring effort. Alongside that, we are beginning to build out an Azure environment from the ground up.

You will help shape that work as part of a small, collaborative team. We focus on growing together, and we value people who are comfortable working through hard problems and sharing what they know along the way. Other duties to include, but not limited to:

  • Support and contribute to an Active Directory migration and rearchitecture, including OU restructuring, group policy redesign, site topology, and replication.
  • Help build and configure a new Azure environment, including Entra ID and hybrid identity with Azure AD Connect.
  • Manage and support core infrastructure services including DNS, DHCP, and certificate services.
  • Provide system support through troubleshooting, and document resolutions for future reference.
  • Participate in monthly operations cycles including patching, monitoring, maintenance, and tuning.
  • Perform and help automate OS, software, and service installations.
  • Create and maintain operational documentation and standard operating procedures.

What required background will make you successful?

  • 8+ years of experience in Windows systems administration.
  • Deep experience with Active Directory, including OU design, group policy, multi-site environments, replication, and migrations.
  • Strong working knowledge of core infrastructure services including DNS, DHCP, and certificate services.
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows Server across deployment, service migration, and lifecycle management.
  • Experience with storage platforms such as SAN, NAS, or hyperconverged configurations.
  • Experience managing and resolving vendor OS and software patches and vulnerability notices.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI security clearance
  • US CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED

Preferred skills:

  • Familiarity with Azure services, including Entra ID and hybrid identity configurations.
  • Experience with disaster recovery processes, including backup software and policies.
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting.
  • Experience with a configuration management tool such as Ansible.
  • Comfortable explaining technical work to teammates and contributing to team planning discussions.
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Microsoft certification such as Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104), or a Windows Server focused certification.
  • CompTIA Security+ or DoD 8570 Level II equivalent within 90 days of hire.
  • TS/SCI eligibility preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 10%.

Where is the position located?

This position is located at our Tucson, Arizona Headquarters. This position is 100% onsite and does not allow for hybrid schedules.

*The likely salary range for this position is $100,000 to $120,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.

What benefits does RRC offer?

  • 100% employer-paid premiums for family medical and dental insurance, employee life insurance, short-term and long-term disability (STD & LTD)
  • Flexible reimbursement spending accounts for medical expense and dependent care
  • Immediate participation and vesting in the companyโ€™s Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) and 401(k) Plan
  • Employer contributions to RRCโ€™s ESOP
  • Employer matching contributions to the companyโ€™s 401( k) Plan
  • Employer discretionary contributions to the companyโ€™s 401(k) Plan
