Job Purpose

The Sullivan 180 Program Intern is a seasonal position that supports the implementation of programs, initiatives, and outreach efforts that promote prevention, health, and wellness across the community.

The Sullivan 180 Program Intern will work closely with staff on a range of programmatic efforts, including coordination of activities, community outreach, and program delivery. The primary focus of this position is program implementation and operational support. Specific projects will be identified through clear timelines and deliverables. This position offers hands-on experience in nonprofit programming while contributing to the advancement of Sullivan 180’s initiatives to improve community health.

Specific duties include:

  • Assist with the coordination and execution of Sullivan 180 programs and initiatives
  • Assist with implementation of program activities across focus areas
  • Assist with community events, meetings, and outreach efforts
  • Assist with project-based work with defined timelines and deliverables
  • Assist with tracking tasks, timelines, and deliverables to support program implementation
  • Assist with intern communications, including reminders, updates, and scheduling coordination
  • Assist with tracking intern participation, attendance, and required submissions (e.g., timesheets, photos, meetings)
  • Assist with maintaining accountability for program expectations and deadlines
  • Assist with preparation, setup, and coordination of trainings, meetings, and events
  • Assist with maintaining organized records and documentation related to program activities
  • Assist with drafting and distributing program-related communications
  • Supporting staff across various program areas as needed
  • Undertaking administrative tasks to facilitate program implementation
  • Participating in meetings, events, and training sessions
  • Performing other duties as assigned to meet organizational needs

Qualifications:

  • Entering or current college student pursuing a degree in education, public health, community health, or related field; or recent graduate
  • Detail-oriented with strong communication, organizational, interpersonal, and writing skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, timelines, and priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals across diverse communities, institutional partners, and governmental agencies
  • Cultural competency to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds
  • Must exercise discretion, sound judgment, and maintain the highest professional ethics
  • Mission-driven and interested in community and public health
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Ability to drive and access reliable transportation to travel for meetings and events
  • Familiarity with Sullivan County geography, agencies, and organizations preferred


This position is seasonal, running from late May/early June through late August, 25-32 hours per week.
