REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Must possess a national certification as a Surgical Technician 
  • Recent (within past 2 years) experience in acute care hospital OR preferred
  • BLS 

 

DESCRIPTION

  • Under the supervision of an RN, the Surg Tech assists the surgical physician by establishing and maintaining a sterile field in the O.R., setting up equipment, scrubbing in, and handing instruments and supplies. The Surg Tech also assists the surgical team by preparing patients for transport out of O.R. and cleaning O.R.
  • The Surg Tech must be able to take call nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating basis; and must be within 20 minute travel time to hospital
