Job description

SUMMARY

The SAP S/4HANA Functional Consultant plays a critical role in bridging business requirements with SAP system capabilities. Operating within the SAP Center of Excellence, the consultant is responsible for end-to-end functional design, configuration, and support of SAP modules aligned to business processes. Leveraging SAP Activate methodology, the consultant drives fit-gap analysis, functional specifications, and testing cycles across implementation and enhancement projects. The role requires strong cross-functional collaboration, deep understanding of integrated business processes, and hands-on experience with S/4HANA and Fiori applications. Responsibilities also include incident resolution, change request management, and continuous improvement aligned with ITIL service delivery standards. The consultant contributes to project planning, user training, and documentation, ensuring SAP solutions are scalable, compliant, and aligned with enterprise goals.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

       Analyze and document business processes and identify optimization opportunities using SAP best practices

       Gather, validate, and prioritize functional requirements with business stakeholders and COE team members

       Configure SAP S/4HANA modules and Fiori applications based on functional specifications and SAP Activate methodology

       Perform fit-gap analysis, create functional designs, and support integration testing across end-to-end processes

       Develop functional specifications for RICEFW objects and collaborate with ABAP development and integration teams

       Execute unit testing, coordinate UAT, and manage defect resolution through structured test cycles

       Provide post-go-live functional support, including incident management, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement

       Maintain accurate documentation for configuration, functional designs, and process flows in compliance with ITIL standards

       Deliver end-user training and develop training materials for supported SAP modules

       Participate in release management, transport coordination, and change control processes

       Collaborate with COE, PMO, and technical teams to support project planning, execution, and governance activities

       Monitor SAP roadmap, release notes, and industry trends to recommend enhancements and innovations

       Ensure compliance with security, data integrity, and audit requirements within SAP environments

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and/or ABILITIES

       Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to troubleshoot SAP Vistex issues.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

       Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field

       Minimum 3 years of hands-on SAP functional experience in configuration and support

       Strong understanding of SAP business processes and integration points

       Experience with SAP S/4HANA and familiarity with SAP Fiori apps

       Ability to translate business requirements into functional specifications

       Proficiency in documenting functional designs and test scripts

       Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills

       Experience with SAP Activate methodology and ITIL service management practices

Preferred

       SAP certification in relevant module(s)

       Experience in SAP implementation or rollout projects

       Familiarity with Agile or hybrid project delivery models

       Exposure to SAP Cloud ALM or Solution Manager

       Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or similar industries

WORK SCHEDULE

       Fulltime position (40 hours a week), Overtime, Weekends, Holidays, Trainings as required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS 

       While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands and fingers, reach with arms, talk and hear.  The employee will frequently be required to stoop, kneel and crouch.  The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT 

       While performing the duties of this job, the employee is seated in a cubicle environment and is exposed to fluorescent lighting and computer monitors.
