Job description

TITLE: 2026 – 27 San Jose Sharks Tank Patrol and Barracuda Riptide

POSITION TYPE: Part Time, Non-Exempt

COMPANY: Sharks Sports and Entertainment, LLC

LOCATION: SAP Center and Tech CU Arena – San Jose, CA

REPORTS TO: Event Presentation Manager

PAY RANGE: $21.00 per hour

Position Overview

The Coca-Cola Tank Patrol and Riptide is an extension of the San Jose Sharks and Barracuda brand and also serves as the in-game entertainment and promotions team. They are responsible for entertaining and interacting with fans to provide a fun, exciting, and memorable guest experience at all Sharks and Barracuda home games and events. At home games, the Coca-Cola Tank Patrol and Riptide members are responsible for the on-ice intermission games, door giveaways, and promotions during TV timeouts at SAP Center and Tech CU Arena. For events, all members will serve as the entertainment and promotions team representing the Sharks and Barracuda brand beyond the arena.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Entertain and interact with fans to create an exciting experience and "home ice advantage."
  • Execute sponsored promotions on and off the ice
  • Choose participants for in-game contests
  • Participates in off-site game-viewing parties and other events
  • Provide support to the mascots, S.J. Sharkie and Frenzy at any organizational events
  • Perform other duties as assigned, consistent with the scope and level of the position.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Team player in every sense of the word
  • Available for a minimum of 20 home games and all playoff games
    • Shifts will begin 2.5 hours before each game and end approximately a half an hour after each game (typically from 4:30 – 10:30PM)
  • Ability to work unusual hours at times based on the event schedule and the requirements of the event. This includes evenings, weekends, late nights, early mornings, and holidays.
  • Experience working with individuals of all age groups
  • Fast learner, skilled at quickly acquiring new skills
  • Ability to process information in an organized and efficient manner
  • Possesses an outgoing and enthusiastic personality and thrives in team settings
  • Ability to think and react quickly in any situation
  • Willingness to assist others
  • Ability to travel to off-site events and appearances as needed, representing the San Jose Sharks/ San Jose Barracuda and engaging with fans and the community.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, stoop, and crouch for extended periods of time
  • Ability to bend at the waist, reach overhead and lift up to 50lbs with or without accommodation
  • Physically navigate stairs and catwalks at SSE facilities during normal work hours and events with or without accommodation
  • Ability to go up and down stairs multiple times in a shift.
